Phantasmagorika

About 500 years ago, an ambitious experiment to create new materials that have never existed on Midgard took place. A giant particle accelerator was built in the Lab-OPTATIO district of Verus City, the biggest in existence. One late morning, Research Project 32001 began experimentation under the watchful eye of Dr. Lona Fresa. Unfortunately, the experiment went wrong and caused a massive explosion that shook the entire city to the core and leveled the Lab-OPTATIO district to the ground. The people of Verus City were shocked and appalled by the destructive event and blame was placed on the experiment's chief researcher and manager, Dr. Fresa herself.

As a result of the explosion, a strange energy pervaded Verus City, causing its citizens to abandon their homes and livelihoods in search of life elsewhere. Verus City eventually found itself buried underground, untouched for hundreds of years until it was uncovered by Rekenber Corporation. Dubbed the Fantasmagorika Project, Rekenber is currently recruiting adventurers to aid in the excavation of the city to find out more about its origins.
